    Ruben Pater and Kuan-Ting Chen

From 8 October, the best book designs of 2021 can be seen in the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. We are honoured to invite 2 selected designers to Zefir7 on Tuesday October 18, 2022.

    Ruben Pater

Ruben Pater is a designer at a moment in time when about the last thing the world needs is: more design. In search for ethical alternatives, he designs, writes, and teaches while working in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Ruben’s latest book CAPS LOCK: How Capitalism Took Hold of Graphic Design and How to Escape From It is a book that retraces the relations between graphic design and capitalism. It is an inspirational book, full of sources for design students, educators and visual communicators all over the world. www.untold-stories.net

    Kuan-Ting, Chen

Met Stoelen (With Chairs) is a book that discusses the relationship between people and objects – chairs in particular and the story about them. The images used come from the Rijksstudio archive. They are divided into three chapters: sketches of the chair, photographic documentation of the chair, and images of how people interact with chairs. Each of these chapters represents a different stage in a chair’s life – from pre-production to user behavior and interactions.

Kuan-Ting, Chen, BA student from Graphic Design Arnhem, is from Tainan, Taiwan and is currently based in Arnhem, the Netherlands. www.k-chen.nl
